Men's  Ministries

Men's

This is a place for men to be men, a place to eat ribs, shoot skeet and most importantly Grow in God. God never made men to do life alone we were designed and destined for Godly fellowship. Gods word says it this way in

Proverbs 27:17 "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend" .

We pray and believe that this will be a place for men of all ages to come and be sharpened.

Royal Housewives

Royal Housewives

The primary focus of our Ladies groups is to cultivate a love for Jesus, His Word and live out our purpose with our husbands, within our homes, at church and our community.

Our plan for 2015-2016 is to support, develop and engage as many women as possible in our monthly studies; learning about the Women of the Bible. Through this series we will encourage each woman to be supportive one to another, as we study them out together. This will give us the confidence to share our relationship and knowledge of the Lord within the church and our communities with assurance.

Lastly, it is my personal goal to enhance the lives of every women and family within our church family to understand fully who they are in Christ Jesus.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

Church History

Church History

A place of worship for over a century.

A Cherokee preacher settled in the Sugar Mound area in 1880; he built a log cabin to be used as a schoolhouse and also a Baptist church, known as Sugar Mound Baptist Church.

In 1910 the members tore down the building and rebuilt a new building, using the same lumber.

The Church joined the Washington-Osage Baptist Association in 1938 and the church became known as Matoaka Baptist Church.
